The game introduces two gameplay presets—Authentic, designed for realism and tactical depth (especially in Career Mode), and Competitive, which emphasizes faster-paced action and precision suited for online modes like Ultimate Team and Clubs. It features over 35 major leagues, 20,000+ licensed players, realistic goalkeeper animations, and refined AI positioning.

FC 26 places a strong emphasis on accessibility and player feedback. New features include a high-contrast mode to make visual elements more distinguishable, configurable captions, and “boot flow” options to toggle needed accessibility features at launch. Gameplay fundamentals like dribbling, player control, and match responsiveness have been tuned based on community suggestions, aiming for improved consistency, more rewarding interaction, and better realism in how matches feel and flow.
